Bee Skyrise

The Bee Skyrise is the metropolitan building all the humans of Minneapolis and St. Paul wish they could live in. On the banks of the Como Lake, the Bee Skyrise provides a habitat for bees. It was a need seen by Christine B. and Amanda Lovelee. Working with Colleen Satyshur, they secured thousands in grants to make both the Bee Skyrise and the associated office of Urban Pollination Exchange. The project has been maintained by Julie Benda since 2017, shortly after it’s unveiling in 2017. This summer, she hired two interns, whose job is to bike the (rather unwieldy) office around to public places like farmers markets, where they educate the public and distribute seeds.
